Opinion: Need to expand PLI scheme to boost local production of EV parts like copper foils, ET Auto

In order to develop the domestic supply chain for components, there is a need to revisit the PLI scheme. The PLI-ACC does not provide clarity on receiving the financial benefits for manufacturing copper foil from the scheme. One way to support the supply chain is by expanding the PLI-ACC scheme for the EV battery components, such as copper foil. It is an essential component in EV lithium-ion batteries and will play a major role in India's vision of becoming Aatmanirbhar.
